Making cheesy scones with carrots was a great hands-on experience for our tamariki this week. Before we started the baking process we all made sure wash our hands.
Using a simple scone recipe we counted the scoops for our dry ingredients and mixed it together with the milk and grated cheese and carrots. Tamariki were very curious and asked lots of questions, for example why are we grating the carrots? Tamariki were also very helpful, volunteering to wipe the table before we began our baking process.
Tamariki also practised turn-taking and waiting patiently for their turn. The best part of the process was of course eating the scones! Yum Yum. Ka pai tamariki! I am sure they all had lots of fun building relationships while creating our yummy scones.
